Cancer is a Bitch - Gail Konop Baker

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
So we kicked it off with an evening with Gail Konop Baker talking about her book Cancer is a Bitch, or I'd Rather be Having a Midlife Crisis.

Gail read a couple chapters from her book with energy and great humor. She was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ a few years back and this book is her journey with the diagnosis and how it impacts her family life and her internal worldview. A benefit for Breast Cancer Connections, the event was attended by many women who either have breast cancer now or are survivors of a past episode. Gail was encouraging and kind to each person who came up to her in line and shared his/her story.

You can also find Gail's work on Literary Mama: A Literary Magazine for the Maternally Inclined.

**Side note, if you mention Breast Cancer Connections at the register at Kepler's on any day of the year, a portion of the sale will go back to the organization!

I am most interested in getting a copy of "Cancer is a Bitch" As the wife of a dear man who has been fighting terminal prostate cancer for over 6 years, I can tell you that cancer is a bastard as well as a bitch!
Please see my blog.
